This wonderful hillside location is the perfect rural retreat and enjoys sweeping views across the Duke of Buccleuch's Bowhill estate. The forested countryside is perfect for both walkers and mountain bikers, whilst fishermen need only stroll down our drive to cast their lines for trout or salmon in the Yarrow Water, a major tributary of the Tweed. The top floor which once housed the female servants in attic style rooms has now been totally transformed into a warm, airy and exclusive residence.

Uplands Bed Room

The Uplands has two beautifully furnished bedrooms - 1 with double sleigh bed and the second with 2 large single beds with antique brass bedsteads.

The unique position of this apartment offers panoramic views across the Duke of Buccleuch's country estate towards the historic, ghostly Newark Tower and beyond.

Uplands View

On a winters evening watching the sinking sun set the sky on fire before finally disappearing behind the western hills is a truly breathtaking experience never to be forgotten.

Owing to the 62 stone steps which must be climbed to reach the Uplands, this apartment may be unsuitable for the less active guest.
